During an interview appearance on Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe podcast, which premiered on November 14, 2024, Shawn opened up about his current relationship dynamic with Camila.
The singer admitted that since their heartbreaking split back in 2021, the two have struggled to maintain their friendship. He shared,
“I think we haven’t been the closest over the last couple of years. But I think we really know each other”.
Reflecting on their time together, the Why Why Why singer highlighted that while he and Cabello may no longer share a close bond, they still maintain a unique mutual understanding. Mendes explained,
“We spent a lot of time together, we really know each other’s hearts. Even when all the sound and all the noise is happening, we can kinda see through each other’s bullshit pretty easily. And it’s just nice to have that”.
