Actress Aimee Lou Wood is calling out Saturday Night Live after a recent parody rubbed her the wrong way, and she’s not holding back.
On April 12, 2025, the iconic sketch show aired a five-minute spoof titled The White Potus, a political parody inspired by HBO’s hit series The White Lotus.
In the skit, SNL cast member Sarah Sherman portrayed Wood’s Season 3 character, complete with exaggerated buck teeth, seemingly poking fun at the actress’s own appearance.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Wood criticized the show for the tasteless impersonation, particularly for mocking her physical features. She wrote,
“I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny. Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure, that’s what the show is about, but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”

Aimee also used her platform to address swirling rumors that The White Lotus production team, including HBO and the show’s director, had made similar comments about her appearance. Firmly shutting down the speculation, she clarified,
“Nobody at HBO called me ugly!! Jeez, as if… HBO has been nothing but super supportive… and never wronged me. So leave them alone 😂 NBCSNL – mean”.
SNL Issues Apology To Aimee After Backlash Over Skit Mocking Her Appearance
Just hours after Wood publicly called out SNL for mocking her physical features, a wave of support flooded social media, and the backlash didn’t go unnoticed.
Following the uproar, SNL issued a private apology to the Sex Education alum. The actress shared the update with fans on her Instagram Stories, confirming that the team had reached out. However, she chose to keep the specifics of the apology private and did not disclose any names involved.

A few weeks prior to this latest drama, Aimee opened up about her unique buck teeth and shared how she’s proudly chosen not to alter them to fit beauty standards.
During an exclusive interview appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, which aired on March 23, 2025, Wood reflected on being bullied for her teeth growing up and how the conversation around them has shifted since rising to fame.
Grateful for the support she’s received from fans online, Aimee candidly shared,
“I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having… It feels so lovely. A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever. Now people are clapping in the audience… I [hope my fans] don’t start filing their teeth as they have gaps”.
