Ashlyn Harris is navigating the emotional challenges of her recent divorce from ex-wife Ali Krieger. In a revealing interview published on July 16, 2024, with Women’s Health magazine, Harris opened up about the impact the split is having on her.

Speaking to Charlotte Walsh, Harris candidly spoke about the mental toll that she is facing with her ongoing divorce. She also emphasized the difficulties of coping with a failed marriage. She shared,

“I’m navigating a divorce that’s been really hard… It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through—dealing with a divorce… It’s a really big test”. 

Speaking about the reactions of people around her to the news, Ashlyn further added,

“I’m just riding the waves and realizing I can only control what’s in my controllables. I can’t control everyone else’s reaction”.

“The online hate that has happened since has been one of the most personally devastating experiences of my life. Words matter. The cheering on abuse… and the cruel words spoken… Those words matter”. 

After meeting in 2010 as members of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team, Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger dated for several years before getting engaged and married in 2019. After almost four years of marriage, Harris filed for divorce in September 2023. The former couple also share custody of their two children.
