A decade after their divorce, actress Brooke Mueller has opened up for the first time about her relationship with ex-husband Charlie Sheen.
In an episode of the podcast Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn, which premiered on September 4, 2024, the Cursed actress shared her unique co-parenting experience with Sheen.
The former couple, who share twin sons Bob and Max, live in neighboring homes. Mueller explained that this unconventional arrangement allows for frequent communication and easy coordination of childcare responsibilities. She said,
“My kids live with me full-time but Charlie and I are neighbors. And so we talk daily, sometimes oftentimes, multiple times a day. He even comes over a lot, and we go over there”.
Emphasizing the positive nature of her relationship with the Two And A Half Men actor, Brooke added,
“We have a fantastic relationship, and we have this pretty unique modern family over here where Charlie and I both live… We get along very, very well”.

When asked if she had always maintained a positive relationship with Charlie, the actress admitted that it hadn’t always been easy. She attributed the challenges in their relationship to her past struggles with addiction. She explained,
“It was not always good. The reason why our relationship wasn’t good… was my addiction. This is the devastating thing about addiction; it affects everybody… I worked really hard. It has not been easy. I have been sober for nine months”.
In 2012, following her divorce from Sheen, Brooke faced significant challenges due to her severe addiction. Social workers from the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services deemed her unfit to care for her children at that time.
As a result, her twin sons were placed under the temporary custody of Charlie’s ex-wife, Denise Richards. However, Brooke eventually regained custody of her children in 2013 after making significant progress in her recovery.
Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen first met in late 2006 through a mutual friend. The couple soon got engaged and tied the knot in May 2008. Almost a year later, in March 2009, they welcomed their twin sons.
Unfortunately, their marriage did not last. Brooke and Charlie filed for divorce in late 2010, just two years after tying the knot. Since 2022, the former couple has shared joint custody of their children.
