After a bitter six-year legal battle, Channing Tatum and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan have settled their divorce.
The couple’s settlement documents were obtained by E! News on September 25, 2024. While the exact details of their divorce settlement remain confidential, it has been revealed that both parties mutually waived any spousal support.
Moreover, court records submitted to an LA judge indicate that Tatum and Dewan, who share a daughter named Everly, will resolve any future custody disagreements privately with the judge.
The former couple’s divorce hearing was originally scheduled for December of this year. However, with the legal finalization of their settlement, the trial showdown between the exes will no longer take place.
The Love Lies Bleeding actress filed for divorce from Tatum in 2018. Their legal battle lasted for several years due to disputes over assets, specifically regarding profits earned from Channing’s film franchise, Magic Mike.
Jenna claimed that they invested their joint marital funds into the project and that she should receive an equal share of the generated profits.
Channing Tatum And Jenna Dewan’s Turbulent Legal Battle Over Shared Assets
In April 2024, just a few months before their divorce was finalized, Dewan alleged that her ex-husband had hidden crucial details about his exact earnings from the Magic Mike films.
In response, the Step Up star refuted her claims in court documents filed in May 2024, stating,
“I have never denied her share of any community assets or income. Her claims… are completely false. She has had complete access to all our financial records for all activities during our marriage and since separation. I continue to provide her with updates regarding Magic Mike financial matters…”
Following these events, Dewan filed a motion requesting the dismissal of Tatum’s legal team, citing an alleged conflict of interest. In response, Channing opposed the motion in a court declaration, stating,
“It is just another delay tactic [by her] to prolong our divorce case”.
With their divorce settlement now finalized, the former couple appears to have reached an agreement regarding their shares in the film’s profits. However, the specifics of how they will distribute the profits have not been disclosed.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan met on the set of Step Up in 2006. After three years of dating, they got married in 2009 and had a daughter in 2013.
However, after nearly nine years of marriage, they separated in 2018 and filed for divorce. Channing and Jenna were declared legally single by a judge in November 2019.
