The ongoing legal battle between singer FKA Twigs and her ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf continues to escalate, even four years after it began.
On October 18, 2024, Twigs’ legal team filed new documents in California Superior Court, accusing LaBeouf of stalling his deposition and delaying the trial which is set to take place on October 25, 2024.
As reviewed by PEOPLE magazine, the filing not only refers to LaBeouf as an abuser but also highlights his lack of cooperation throughout the legal process. The singer’s attorneys argued that his limited evidence submission and evasive behavior raise serious concerns.
They wrote in the filing,
“He has been egregiously evasive and nonresponsive… producing only nine pages of evidence. It appears that LaBeouf has something to hide, as he has suspiciously claimed he no longer has any other responsive documents in his possession or control, having lost or misplaced his electronic devices or destroyed relevant information prior to the initiation of this action”.
The documents further highlighted that, in contrast to the actor’s conduct, Twigs has provided sufficient ‘responsive documents and written responses’.
Twigs’ legal team also claimed that LaBeouf’s actions have created a dispute over who will take the stand first in the deposition process. They added,
“[He] inexplicably refuses to be deposed first, despite multiple agreements between counsel that both parties would be deposed within the same week, with LaBeouf’s deposition scheduled to take place first”.

“What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my whole life. I don’t think people would ever believe it could happen to me. But that’s the thing, it can happen to anybody”.
