During a candid appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers show, premiered on August 12, 2024, the comedian publicly addressed his secret marriage, putting an end to the swirling rumors.
Mulaney surprised host Seth Meyers and the audience by flashing his wedding band in front of everyone. With a beaming smile, he revealed he’s off the market. He shared,
“I got married. It’s the best… This is the single greatest time in my life…”
As the crowd erupted in cheers to the happy news, the loudest voice belonged to none other than John’s mother-in-law, Kim Munn, who was in the audience. During the interview, the comedian playfully responded to her enthusiastic support, saying,
“And my mom is here as well… Hi, Mom! We got married so I call her Mom now… That’s Mother-in-law… I’m so happy she came”.

Marriage often involves merging two families into one, but for John Mulaney, the process was particularly heartwarming. Not only did he welcome his wife into his life, but he also embraced her large Vietnamese family as his own.
Addressing his in-laws, the comedian said,
“I’ve been in a lot of interesting situations. Marrying into a large Vietnamese family is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. They’re the best, man”.
When Meyers inquired about his new experience adjusting with his intercultural in-laws, John launched into a hilariously sarcastic account. He jokingly narrated his ordeal saying,

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s paths first crossed in 2013 at a mutual friend’s wedding. However, their friendship blossomed into romance in May 2021 following Mulaney’s divorce from his first wife Anna Marie Tendler.
That same November, the couple welcomed their first child together. Finally, after three years of dating, Olivia and John tied the knot in July 2024.
