Looks like JoJo Siwa is done playing coy, as she’s finally confirming her new relationship status.
In an exclusive interview with The Guardian published on June 2, 2025, the 22-year-old Karma singer officially confirmed her romance with her Celebrity Big Brother U.K. co-star, Chris Hughes, 32.
When asked about their relationship, which both previously claimed was just a friendship, JoJo straight-up told the U.K. newspaper,
“It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way”.
Rumors that their relationship was a social media stunt have followed them for weeks, but Siwa shut it down once and for all, saying,
“This is a very genuine connection. We’re not faking a thing. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much”.
JoJo Opens Up About Her Evolving Sexual Identity
The Dance Moms alum had previously identified as a lesbian, but during her time on the British reality show, she revealed that she might not strictly be a lesbian, but rather identifies as queer.
Reflecting on her evolving sense of sexuality and how her relationship with Hughes fits into that, JoJo explained,
“Queer best encompasses how I am, and who I am. There’s a lot of different sexual identities. I think there’s nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves… I’m also living a human life. You can’t help who you love”.
Just a day before her heartfelt confession, on June 1, Chris shared an intimate Snapchat photo of himself cuddled up in bed with JoJo.
In the dimly lit selfie, the pair lay close under a white striped blanket, both shirtless with their torsos partially covered. Hughes gently rested one arm around JoJo’s head, while she nestled into his chest, eyes closed, with an arm draped across him.
The former Love Island star also planted a soft kiss on her forehead and captioned the snap,
“Sleeepinnn beauty”.

Moreover, it seems Hughes has also won over JoJo’s parents, Jessalynn Siwa and Tom Siwa. In an interview on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, on June 1, 2025, the Boomerang singer revealed,
“My parents think the absolute world of him and he and my dad are like best friends. Chris was actually telling me that yesterday they went to the spa together. They’re literally best friends”.

JoJo Siwa was previously in a five-month relationship with Kath Ebbs, but the two called it quits in April 2025, right around the time JoJo’s onscreen chemistry with Chris started turning heads.
