Actress Rachel Zegler is facing intense backlash following the release of her latest Disney film, Snow White, which has struggled at the box office since its debut on March 21, 2025.
On March 26, Jonah Platt, the son of the film’s producer, Marc Platt, harshly criticized Zegler for the movie’s disappointing performance, calling out her actions as a contributing factor.
His comments came in response to a now-deleted Instagram remark, where a fan accused his father of being creepy for allegedly flying to New York in August 2024 to meet the actress after her pro-Palestine post on X during the film’s promotion. The claim was recently reported by Variety magazine.
Defending his father and condemning Rachel, Jonah wrote,
“Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for”.
The host of the Being Jewish podcast further doubled down on his criticism, holding Zegler accountable for the film’s failure. He continued,
“This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office. Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions”.

Jonah Platt Calls Out Rachel Zegler For Her Alleged Entitlement
Platt concluded his comment by criticizing what he saw as Rachel’s entitled behavior while working on the project.
He claimed her actions jeopardized not only the film’s reputation but also the livelihoods of the cast, crew, and everyone involved behind the scenes. He wrote,
“Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful. Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged”.
This isn’t the first controversy surrounding Rachel Zegler and Marc Webb’s live-action adaptation of the 1937 animated classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
In June 2021, the film sparked backlash over Zegler’s casting, as some critics objected to a Colombian-Polish actress portraying princess Snow White, a character originally depicted as fair-skinned.
Netizens Back Platt’s Harsh Criticism Of The Actress
The online community largely sided with Platt, applauding his remarks and holding Rachel accountable for the film’s failure, accusing her of prioritizing personal politics over her professional responsibilities. Several such comments on social media read,
“Poor Disney didn’t know that they were hiring a commie. The producer’s son has a point. Rachel dragged her politics into the movie promotions, thus exacerbating the negative PR”.
“Snow White is played by a Narcissistic non-white girl who’s president of her own fan club”.
“Jonah Platt and his father are spot on. She had an opportunity many would love to have and she made it all about her ideology not the craft, the work, the fans, the audience, but about herself”.

Love her or hate her, Rachel Zegler has once again found herself at the center of a Hollywood storm. With Jonah Platt’s fiery remarks making waves, the real question is—will she break her silence or let the controversy fade away?
