Actress Laura Prepon and her ex-husband, Ben Foster, have reportedly reached a parenting agreement despite their ongoing bitter divorce proceedings.
On January 10, 2025, In Touch Weekly magazine exclusively obtained court documents outlining the former couple’s custody arrangement for their two minor children.
The agreement, approved by the court, grants Ben regular parenting time with their daughter and son. However, it includes specific rules to ensure the children’s well-being.
A strict clause prohibits both parents from consuming alcohol during their parenting time. The official court order states:
“Neither party shall consume alcohol to the point of intoxication while around the minor children during his or her parenting time”.
Additionally, the order requires Laura and Ben to give reasonable notice if their job takes them out-of-state during their scheduled parenting time. It specifies:
“If either party has employment that requires him or her to travel out of state during his or her parenting time, then that party will provide reasonable notice to the other party”.
Prepon and the X Men: The Last Stand star have also agreed to prohibit their employees from making derogatory remarks about the other parent in the presence of the children.
Laura Prepon Accuses Ben Foster Of Alcohol Addiction And Child Neglect
The duo’s temporary custody arrangement came almost a month after the That 70’s Show star accused Ben of struggling with alcohol addiction and neglecting their children’s needs.
On December 17, 2024, Prepon’s attorney, Larry Hayes, filed witness testimonies in court to support her claims.
Among the submitted affidavits was a statement from Laura Vogel, who has worked for Prepon for over seven years. In her testimony, Vogel detailed:
“[Laura] has always been the children’s full-time primary caretaker… Over the past seven years, [Ben] has shown through inaction and absence, that being a father is not Ben’s priority… He would often be drinking alcohol… throughout the day and into the late evening”.
After six years of marriage, Foster filed for divorce on November 12, 2024, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and noting that the couple had been separated since September 9, 2023.
Their divorce proceedings are still ongoing, with the court yet to issue a final ruling.
