There seems to be no bad blood between Teddi Mellencamp and her now ex-husband, Edwin Arroyave, as they navigate life post-divorce.
On the December 5, 2024, episode of her new podcast, Diamonds In The Rough, Teddi got candid about her current relationship with Edwin and how they’re handling their split.
During a heartfelt discussion with co-host Erika Girardi, Teddi shared,
“I can say this with one hundred percent certainty, like I’ve done a lot of things in my life, but marrying Edwin and having our kids and doing that together is one of the best things that I’ve ever done”.
However, divorce is never easy, and like many couples navigating their split, Teddi and her ex-husband have faced their share of challenges during this transition. To maintain boundaries while prioritizing their children, Mellencamp revealed that the pair has established a unique system.
When Edwin visits their home to spend time with the kids, Teddi stays with her The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Kyle Richards. Detailing their arrangement, Teddi said,
“Both Edwin and I leave when the other one comes in or sleeps over… We can both be there like you know, for sporting events or so. It’s not that we can’t. We’re completely happy to be around one another”.
Teddi Mellencamp Refuses To Play The Blame Game Amid Ongoing Divorce
On November 1, 2024, Teddi pulled the trigger on her marriage as she officially filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Just days later, an anonymous source close to the couple dropped a bombshell in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, claiming the split stemmed from a months-long affair between Mellencamp and her horse trainer, Simon Schröeder.
Addressing the swirling rumors in the podcast, the reality TV star shared her perspective on the information circulating online, emphasizing her commitment to avoiding the blame game. She said,
“Something that we see often is, a source said this, and I’m like, well, I know that wasn’t anybody that I know… I really don’t want to place blame. Yeah, of course, there’s going to be moments where I’m angry, or I’m hurt, or I’m upset… But I don’t want to be bitter…”
Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave first met in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009. After two years of dating, they tied the knot in July 2011.
The former couple shares two daughters and a son, together. However, after 13 years of marriage, they are now headed for divorce.
As they continue to co-parent and navigate their post-divorce lives, it’s clear they’re focused on maintaining a respectful dynamic for the sake of their children. Moreover, despite the challenges, Mellencamp remains committed to healing, showing that moving forward doesn’t have to mean holding onto bitterness.
