Following a heartbreaking divorce from her husband of 14 years, Tia Mowry is on a solo journey of self-love. Arriving in style for the 2024 BET Awards on June 30, 2024, Mowry discussed her dating life or its lack thereof during a red carpet interview.
In the exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mowry spoke to host Deidre Behar about her singlehood. She said,
“I am really, really, really enjoying this journey of solitude… I took a little break with dating. And you know who I am dating? I am dating me right now”.
Behar then inquired about a possible future ‘king’ in her life, to which the Family Reunion star replied,
“Right now, I am becoming the partner that I want, so that takes time. I have been in solitude learning a lot about myself… ”
Tia Mowry Encourages Women To Prioritize Themselves Before Dating
After navigating a failed relationship and prioritizing self-love, Tia also encourages other women to emphasize self-discovery before entering any new relationship. In the interview she further added,
“I just want to encourage women out there that you don’t have to jump into a relationship… Work on you, work on yourself… If I can be that source of inspiration then I feel like I am doing what I am supposed to be doing”.
Tia Mowry met her ex-husband Cory Hardrict on a movie set in 1999 and soon began dating. They tied the knot in 2008 and after nearly 14 years of marriage, Mowry and Hardrict filed for divorce in October 2022. The divorce was finalized in April 2023. The former couple also share two children together.
