Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may have finalized their divorce, but it looks like there’s still some unfinished business between the former lovebirds.
On April 23, 2025, sources close to the exes told TMZ that the two are currently fighting over the sale of their former marital home, a sprawling Beverly Hills estate that’s been sitting on the market with no takers.
The luxurious property, listed at $68 million, has yet to attract a buyer. And according to one insider, the sky-high price tag might be the reason. They said,
“The $68 million asking price is way too high. Ben and Jennifer need to drop it by at least 15% if they hope to sell. Folks who have the means to buy expensive mansions are looking for real estate deals right now, and at the current price, this place is far from a steal”.

The source further went on to reveal that Affleck is eager to move forward, and reduce the price, while Lopez isn’t quite on the same page. The insider shared,
“Ben is very much motivated to sell the mansion and wants to lower the price, but Lopez is dragging her feet”.
Devastating L.A. Wildfires Pose Roadblock In Ben And Lopez’s Mansion Sale
Aside from the mansion’s steep asking price, another source pointed to a different factor slowing down the sale.
The aftermath of the January 2025 wildfires, which devastated parts of California and left thousands homeless, including several high-profile celebrities, has led to soaring fire insurance rates. Highlighting how this has become a major concern for buyers, the insider shared,
“Fire insurance prices are skyrocketing… The estimated insurance cost for Ben and J.Lo’s place is $500,000 a year, which is turning would-be buyers away”.
Ben and Jennifer listed their mansion for sale on June 11, 2024, with reports at the time suggesting the sale would yield little to no profit due to the hefty price tag and associated costs.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married for two years, from July 2022 to July 2024. The On The Floor singer filed for divorce in August 2024, and their divorce was finalized in January 2025.
Earlier, in late March 2025, the Accountant star opened up about his divorce from Jennifer in an exclusive GQ cover interview for their April 2025 issue.
Reflecting on the breakdown of their marriage, Ben revealed that their contrasting views on fame played a major role in the split. Dismissing any rumors of drama, he emphasized that their divorce wasn’t the result of scandal or betrayal. He explained,
“Lopez has handled celebrity more adeptly than I have. My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes. But honestly, [there’s] much more than probably people would believe. There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue…”
Fans Weigh In On Ben And Jennifer’s Difficulty In Selling Their Marital Home
The online community seems pretty frustrated over the ongoing disagreement between the ex-couple about their mansion’s asking price. Some such comments online read,
“He should just take the hit and let her have it. No more ties”.
“Have her pay you half and move on!”
“I’m pretty sure JLO paid more for that mansion than him !”
“Never get back with your ex, they’re an ex for a reason. Now look , no one is moving forward!”

With no buyer in sight and no resolution in sight between the exes, this Beverly Hills mansion might just become the symbol of their lingering tension.
Will a compromise be reached, or will it sit on the market forever?
