The wait is finally over as rapper Kanye West has officially dropped one of his most anticipated projects to date.
On April 30, 2025, Ye released Donda 2, a sequel to his 2021 album Donda, featuring 18 new tracks, available on all streaming platforms except Apple Music.
The album boasts star-studded collaborations with big industry names like XXXTENTACION, Migos, Jack Harlow, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, and Future, with a surprise appearance by his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
Renowned rapper Future took on the role of the album’s executive producer, while the cover art features Ye’s childhood home engulfed in flames against a pitch-black night sky.
In the track titled Sci-Fi, the reality star’s voice kicks off the song, sampling her 2021 SNL monologue where she gushed about her marriage and praised Ye. She can be heard saying,
“I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four talented, incredible kids”.

The Origins Of Kim’s Shocking Cameo On Kanye’s New Album
Kim’s unexpected cameo is actually the result of the album’s three-year delay. Donda 2 was originally slated for release in February 2022 but was pushed back because many of the tracks were still unfinished at the time.
Back then, The Kardashians star was still married to Kanye and had agreed to lend her SNL monologue to the project. The former couple finalized their divorce in November 2022.
West and Kardashian are currently locked in an explosive custody battle over their four children. On April 22, 2025, the CARNIVAL rapper took to his official X account to unleash a series of shocking confessions.
In a lengthy post, Kanye called out some of the biggest names in the industry, including Jay Z, Beyoncé, and even President Trump, accusing them of staying silent while Kim allegedly denied him visitation rights. He wrote,
“Jay Z, Beyonce, Kendrick, Rihanna, Rocky included Trump, Elon, why are you all watching and letting Kim take my kids from me in real time… I don’t need to just ‘SEE’ my kids. I need to raise them… I haven’t seen Saint this year”.
Just a few days later, on April 25, during a now-deleted Twitch livestream, West appeared to be speaking with someone on the phone. In a harsh, mocking tone, he referenced Kim’s past as Paris Hilton’s assistant and said on camera,
“Kim was Paris Hilton’s assistant. I should’ve had babies with Paris Hilton over Kim Kardashian! Kim’s only power is to take my kids. I had a baby with a f**king assistant, bro”.
The messy custody battle between Kim and Kanye reportedly escalated after West broke an agreement made during a March 14 mediation session with the SKIMS founder.
At the time, the God Is rapper had agreed not to release a track featuring their 11-year-old daughter, North, alongside disgraced rapper Diddy, who is currently facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
However, just one day later, on March 15, the Heartless rapper dropped the song anyway. Although the track was swiftly deleted, the damage was already done.
