Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE magazine, the source dismissed the speculation as baseless and clarified Jolie’s relationship status. They shared,
“She and Akala are not dating. She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there”.
The insider further revealed that the Maleficent actress and Akala had maintained a long-standing friendship for many years. Highlighting the depth of their bond, the source explained the reasons for the duo’s sustained friendship. They said,
